Default 2008 Drive Belt ????????????

I have searched for some info on drive belt size on this forum and on the Gates site. I am a bit confused as to why it should be so hard to find this information so I decided to start this thread in the hopes that someone can explain why this is so top secret. I can search for the belt for any snowmobile on the planet, but I get no results when I search for motorcycle on the Gates site. Dito for " Harley" . This is a bit odd I think since I know that harley played a big role in the developement of these belts for motorcycles, both racing and standard bikes included. Does anyone have any info on which belt that they use on the 08 touring models? I believe it is a "polychain belt".

your right about the top secret society, I wanted to look up the choices I have when I convert my 1.5 belt to a 1 1/8 belt. nothing on the web or anywhere. and I hate going to the stealership.

I am making the same change from a 1.5" to a 1.125" belt. I found a guy on e-bay that has ALL sizes belts for $150. They have S&S / Gates stamped on the belts. I didn't even know that S&S sold drive belts. I will post his contact info when I get to work this AM. You can order direct from him, not through E-Bay if you want.

I did not want to buy a new belt, I wanted to know the specs to enter into the harmonic sensor unit to detect tension. I was going to set up parameters to keep my eye on it.

I know your pain . I have been searching myself for a week . I am finally giving in and decided to go to the dealer come monday . Couldn't help but laugh when I read this . Mine is a Night Train with the 200 back tire . I believe my belt is 1 1/8 133 tooth . I guess I will know Monday to the tune of 213 bucks .
