Default Gauges look smeared

All of the little gauges on the bike look like there is something on them. I know your gonna say wipe them good , I have and to no avail. Actually looks like its on the inside of the gauges. Question is this I thought they were sealed and dont come apart. If thats the case then why or how would you get like a soap smear on the inside?

Don

The gauges are vented to the outside atmosphere. Sometimes the speedo on my 07 EGS fogs so bad for the first half hour or so in the morning it is hard to read the digits. Talked to the dealer about and got the "That's normal" answer. Don't know if you can get them apart but I doubt it. It would be a PITA to take the gauges out so I just got used to it. The speedo has some permanent deposits on the inside of the glass now.

The Roger McEwen oil temp gauge is the only gauge on my Ultra that doesn't fog so bad I can still read it. Dealer says it is "normal". I guess for the first hour in the morning, as long as I know my oil temp is good, I'm ok...
