Something sounds fishy.
May look clean from a distance but body work can hide quite a bit.
Who would put generic tires on a car worth $60,000

Actually not in this case but I get your point. Understanding the difference, that particular engine builder built bored and or stroked Chevy big blocks that they called elephant motors because of their huge displacements.

Dammit! I done dated my own bad self! Yenko Chevrolet built some very sweet stuff. The 427 Camaros perhaps the very best. Good days.

To the people saying that it sounds fishy becaused he should just sell the car and buy a bike and keep the extra cash, that is where the problem lies. Like others have said, sure a year ago that car could have sold for $45,000 but right now with the economy there are much fewer buyers for that item. Therefore, that car really isn't worth $45,000 anymore, maybe it will be again but not untill things turn around. Anythings true worth is only what someone is willing to shell out for it and it seems this guys isn't finding anyone to shell out $45,000 for the car. Perhaps a more ture to date value for the car is more around $20,000-$30,000 (similar range of a new cruser bike).

So, just for giggles I e-mailed the guy and asked him about the ad, specifically if it is a numbers-matching Mustang, if he's the original owner, and if selling the car for $39k or trading straight up for a touring bike?

Here's his response:

"Will either sell it out right or take cash and trade on a touring hd. All the numbers match. Third owner I have the original title though."

So there you have it, numbers matching, but he's not trading straight up, he's taking a bike as partial trade and looking for cash for the rest (I assume he's probably working down from $39k, meaning if he gives you $20k credit for an '09 touring bike you'd also have to pony up another $19k in cash to make the trade).
