I got the HID light and had the dealer put it in at service time. I sure thought it would be brighter than what I got. The height of the beam is real narrow as well. Who else did this and what do you think of your light?

I put one on my SG and its 50/50 for me...I love the brightness of the light...But the beam is way to narrow...If I did it again[] I might go with the Kuryakyn...It has a single focus reflector and a HID highbeam as well....
I have installed the HID on my RK and love it. I had to adjust the beam as high as it can go up to get it down the road where I want it. The beam is some what narrow, but the passing lamps with SilverStar H-3's in them more then make up for any narrow beam.
I'd try to get the other reflector assemblies that take the H-3 bulb before opting for the expensive of an HID right off the bat agian.
I like mine, like Ram said, I had to have it adjusted a few times till just right. Actually, ordered some passing lamps and sent them off to be powder coated, but sill on the fence about intalling them and junking up the clean SG front end. Mine covers 20 yards side to side and very ample out in front. Checked mine and its as high as it will go also.
I like mine, too. There is no comparison to stock. I also had to re-aim the beam as it was waaaaay too low when first installed but I have it up there now and no cagers are flashing me so it looks like it's fine. I also upgraded my spots to the sealed beam halogen and will soon upgrade my high beam to PIAA. Just can't get too much light on the road these days - especially in a rural area full of deer.
The HID is expensive but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Does anybody know what bulb is in the high beam of the Harley HID kit? I was looking to upgrade it as well? P.S dont get me wrong I love the light I just wish it had a few changes....
I have the dual bulb light that looks like the HID. Burned out twice and the H11 is hard to find. So I did some research and did a retro from Xenondepot.xenondepot So far its alot better then the stock lite. Nice white light. Its a more focused beam than I think most of us aren't use to. More wall to wall instead of just flooding the road. I haven't needed the high beam since I installed it. Doesn't due much good anyway.
The high beam bulb for the Harley HID kit is just a stock HD high beam bulb, P/N 68096-04. At least that is the case for my '06 SEUC. I've been thinking about changing it out to a PIAA. Anyone have a part nuimber for that?

I was curious about upgrading the stock HI beam lamp to a SilverStar when I did the upgrade (installed the HID) onto mine. If I remember right, the bulb had "H-8" printed on to it. I only remember that because I "hate" (H8) looking for it. I've found that its not a common bulb here in the US. I think its more for Europe. Again, the only quetion that comes to mind is "Why".
I know that the HI beam on mine is bearly visible when you have the HID (which burns in the LO and HI switched positions) with or with out the Passing lamps on.
If anyone has had any luck finding it or can tell if what slight change in the keyed tab of the sock may be necessary or made to allow a more common "H-9" bulb to work would greatly be appreciated!
