I bought a Spotlight LED flashlight for my bike. It fits in the cigarette port and has a rechargeable battery that charges any time the bike is on. Its really bright and has come in handy a few times.

Well used it last night to pump up the air mattress and did not blow a fuse. So good to go. Thanks for the replies.

I just discovered that if your cigarette lighter receptacle is wired backwards from the factory, the cigarette lighter will cycle and heat the element properly, but nothing else will work (that requires it to be wired correctly) like radar detector, GPS, or Satellite Radio.

I hope this isn't the first of many "discoveries" on my bike............

I don't smoke but when we go on a long run and I start to feel tired, I push the lighter in wait till it gets hot and drop it in my shirt............wakes me right up.

I figured out why mine didn't work: blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and now it works with all my plug-in stuff.

+1 with sonar, I don't smoke so I tossed the cig lighter in the tour pack and leave the flashlight plugged in 24/7. I also soldered my sirius radio to the wires off the back of the cig lighter under the fairing, and use it for the air pump and cell phone re-charge.

Default what kind of cig lighter socket to buy?

Can anyone recommend a good cheap (?) cig lighter and where to buy? I live in OC CA. I want to use it for my cell/GPS.

Also a cell work craddle for a BB Curve?
