I never take my eyes off the tank when i fill up and i get erked when i see even a little splater comes back out of the tank. My brother over filled his in 90 degree heat and before we left the station the fuel in his tank warmed up and expanded with his cap on it began flow out of the vent and all over the out side of his tank not fun on a hot bike.

some will, most won't, if you lock the handle when it is filling slow. or if you lock it on the first notch (which again, fills slowly). has something to do with the feedback mechanism to the auto shutoff...... too technical for me, i just know it don't take that long to fill a 5 gal tank.

now an 80 gal rod holder? thats a different story
