Default Turbulence and windshields

I just got an 09 FLHRC and have incredible turbulence with the stock windshield.
As I recall from some years back a shorter shield helped this problem?
I would like some input before I hack 2 to 3 inches off.
I'm 5' 9" if that helps??
Give me your feedback

I put fork air deflectors and an air baffle on the neck for the air coming up under the front of the tank. Helped tremendously.

Thanks for the clearview tip.
Was I correct about the height thing?

The air baffle will help a lot! The best $25 I ever spent on chrome. It's stock (but plastic) on the Road Glide but not on the other touring bikes for some strange reason. Part number is 58520-79TC. Don't do anything to your windshield until you try this first!

I just added the baffle and hate it. Made the buffeting worse. I guess every situation is unique. I think I'm going to try the clearview recurve with the same 9.5" height I currently have.

I'm also going to take the little visor off my shorty helmet and see if that helps.

Watch Your knees, the farther from the tank,
The worse the turbulance.

I have a 9" inch shield that I put on during warmer weather, and I think the turbulance is less with the shorter shield.
