OK I am **** about tire pressure I check it every week and getting at the valve on my King is a PITA (Spokes) The rear is the worst Are ther any extensions for the stock valve or a better way to check and fill the tires?
I have a dial pressure gauge that has a 45* chuck and a fabric covered flexible hose. That's what I use just to check, and it stays in my bags for the road.
Usually check at home, and have found laying on the ground the easiest. If I had a nice high lift, that would probably work better.
For filling, I use a tire inflator from Harbor Freight that locks onto the stem, has a long flexible hose, and a built in dial gauge.
I had a flat a couple weeks ago while riding Lolo pass in Idaho. Fortunately, I had a pump and plug kit. As a result of this experience, I was motivated to find a better way to check air pressure. This is what I came up with . . .
Cool thing about this gauge is that it's a pass through model that allows you to inflate the tire and check pressure accurately at the same time.
One in the bag, one in the garage. Best I've found, right angle valve and push button to release air pressure to get to the right pressure. Get the rubber shock absorbing ring as well. I lay on the ground to get to the rear with the saddlebags on. http://www.getagauge.com/MotorcycleTireGauges.cfm
