Default Primary Leak

I was off to work this morning and as I walked past my bike I noticed there was a nickel sized drop of oil on the floor right below the primary. When I got home from work I checked the screws on the primary cover and noticed the two bottom screws bolts what ever they are were loose. Right where the oil is leaking. My question is since there was a leak through the gasket will I always have a leak there on the primary or should it be ok now that I tightened down the bolts.

I contacted the dealer today but they said I needed to talk to the service manager tomorrow. I told them back in Feb I had a primary leak they had replaced. I think they forgot the blue loctite. Bet I was charged for it.

I changed my primary this past weekend. when I took the cover off, I realized the dealership didn't replace the gasket last time they did the work. perhaps the gasket would help if it's not there?

the bolts are tightened in a sequence. blue loctite on each bolt would be a good idea because of intense vibration...but my book for older bike does not list blue loctite..i myself would use blue loctite..will it leak after you tightened ???? only time will tell.
The gasket is expensive at about $30+ and many people do re-use it although books say you should not..i wonder how much oil you have lost, or what is the level..
You may wish to purchase a service manual as many items are easy do it yourself and save $$$

I would take the cover off, clean the gasket and track, then reinstall the cover. If something can get out, something can get in.

Torque it to specs and in the order in the manual. Tighten each screw a little at a time in order. I have found that unless it is done in order it is more likely to seep.
