some of you may remember, I recently got married and moved in with my wife while renting my old home. problem was, she doesn't have a garage/carport..my scoot sits out in theweather...not a good thing during the Florida summer...sun beating down and alot of rain. anyway, I decided to build a garage..so I have the walls framed in on a 16x24 shed. the walls are a little over 10ft tall and I have two roll up doors on the same side but opposite walls that way I can ride straight thru..should have it up in about a month and have the bike outta the weather..any ideas on what I should put inside??? It is a custom one only building that I can arrange however I want, just looking for ideas..I have already put in a drain at one end of the building that empties into a small tank. this is for my oil/fluid changes..I can change the oil and let it drain right out..no need to place a pan under the bike..I am also putting in a deep sink...any other ideas???
Did my 'MAN CAVE" last year...you can never have too many electrical outlets, running water and plenty of lighting. My neighbors think that's where I live now...

+1 to this! BUT...don't forget the tunes! Maybe an air compressor. and of course with the compressor...new air tools! Gotta keep the "Man Cave" up to date!
I built a 14X24 2 years ago, you need a full size fridge, tunes, cable tv, lot's of outlets and a phone line in the cave. I put 3 outside lights on mine, one on each side of the garge door and one to the right of the entry door, they automaticaly come on when it gets dark. Do it up right. Fun project for sure.
I just installed gutters on mine also, the rain was running off the roof splattering on the ground and the mud was covering the lower portin on the cave. (Not good)
Priorities folks, priorities. A nice shelf for a small fridge so you can change your fluids while changing the bike's fluids. A heavy bag hanging in one corner so I had something to punch when I become frustrated with a nut or bolt. On a more serious note, I find I can never have enough work bench. If I built a garage right now I would make sure I had a bench that ran the full length of one of the walls. If I were really going all out I would make sure I installed a drain in the floor so I could wash the bike etc inside. If it has a concrete floor I would seal it or cover most of it with rubber to keep the moisture inside down and to save all the fragile parts I seem to drop on a regular basis.
ditto on plenty of outlets, took my time and did OSB on the walls after insulating, needed it for heat here in Pa but you might do it to keep cool there in Fl. when sealing the floor, go for the solvent based sealer, the water based stuff stinks. have fun
Good advice, guys. I am installing a drain in the floor more so for changing the fluids in the bike than for washing, but that is an option. The floor is 5/4 severe weather decking that I got at Lowes for 4.94..good deal..it has gaps that I will need to seal..gotta put a bench in for sure.
