Besides aesthetics are there any functional advantages to the hinges?

 

put them on my UC also. they really look great and appear to be a bit more substantial than the stockers.

Agree, they are what HD should have done initially. the stockers look like something used as an afterthought.

 

Two schools of thought when it comes to upgrades . . .

I need it (for a functional reason)

I want it (for the bling)

To be honest with everyone, the bling is winning on my bike.

After putting mine on, mph increased about 6 mpg and top end really rose. Rides just a bit nicer i believe

 

after putting my hinges on, had to dyno it to get the greatest amount of HP. guess all that chrome does make it go faster?

 

I think I need to look into these. My wife commented last week about the flimsy looking stock hinges.
