Default Torque setting for installation of batwing windshield

Does anyone know if there are torque settings for the windshield on the batwing faring? Anything I can find so far just says "snug". any help would be appreciated.

09 service manual says 25-30 in-lbs for the three windshield screws.

Cee Bailey after market shields say 12-15 in-lbs to avoid shield stress cracks.

I'm careful not to tighten them too tight. Then I have to stop some where to re tighten when they start to rattle out. Gotta get me one of them in-lb wrenches.

just snug if you tighten them too tight they will pull out the thread insert in the inner fairing and once this happens you will be very unhappy just snug tight with the proper torx tool.

Default Windshield Bolts - Snug Tight

I have an 07 UC and so far I have lost 3 of these bolts. By the time I notice that the bolt is loose and there is a rattle - voila the bolt is long gone. I now have them a quarter turn beyond being snug with some blue loctite and so far they have not popped out on me.

I must change windshields 6 times a year. Snug is fine.

Had to retighten mine every so often. My buddy recommended that I should put a little silcone on the bolt threads. I did and torqued them to 25in lbs. That was a year and 10K miles ago and they have'nt come loose.
