I have WideGlide bars on my RG & the cables & wiring "just fits". THey are called 10" Mini-Apes by the MoCo.
I am also looking into some MonkeyBars or possibly MeatHooks.
I really want to see some on a RK or RG so I can decide exactly what height I really want. I want something just a little higher & maybe wider than the WG's I been running for 5+ yrs now.
Phil...saw a guys RoadGlide he was trading over at HDNT a few weeks ago with a set of PYO Monkeys Bars. They are advertised as 10" but just like the ones I custom ordered at 10", (I'm glad mine actually came the size they did btw, but another story) they look to be taller than that. The also look VERY cool and a bit higher, but not much, than your Wide Glide bars. Let me know if you want to try out the bars on my bike and I'll meet you at Ed's or something next time you're over there.
Yaffee has some pretty killer pictures on his Baggernation web site of RG bars and his setups.
i will be getting my 10" monkey bars in the mail friday.
from all the previous threads i have read on here you can but the 10" apes on the street glide using all stock cables, and lines with a little re routing.
from the looks of things so far that i have seen in taking mine apart..
all the wiring is long enough for sure
clutch cable may need re routing
throttle cables are long enough
brake line may need tweaked a bit but looks long enough.
I put 10 inch bay apes on my 2007 rk classic. Changed nothing and just had to stretch the wiring out just a tad so that i could have some slack. Super easy swap. You'll enjoy them.
I finally got mine and have not found a cut and clear diagnosis. Do i Need new cables or wiring? They are the Standard 10" going on a 2009 Road glide. I have read you dont need to change anything on a roadie others have said they changed it all. I just want to know if you HAVE to change anything? Thanks for everyones help.
I got a 2010 roadglide.10 inch bars. No need to buy any thing other the different throttle. Not sure of part number. Do a search and you will find it. Believe me it will a lot easier. The stock fly by wire assembly has a large green plug that will get Hung up trying to get thru the bars.and use baby powder to slide wires thru.
