Inner Faring Braces

A friend just returned from a 5000 mile trip to New mexico and back. When I asked how the trip was the reply was great except for both fairing braces on her 09 SG breaking. I've had 2 replaced on my 05 FLHT and did a repair of one on my own after warranty. This should not be happening. These are well cared for bikes with highway miles. Harley is frustrating H out of me! Anyone else have this problem?

they have had this problem for years,, dont know why they wont make a beffy brace ... i drilled a couple holes and got mine secured with zip ties... has held for 2 yrs now

I've had to replace the upper left twice. And the lower left once. Need to come up with a way to fix it right. My warrenty is about up.

Mine is broke on my 07...a month away from the end of my warrenty. My dealer has them on order but said they are backordered...they even told me this is a common problem...WTF

Thanks for the tip on the repair kit, skydoc. I did a similar with an L bracket, but I like the vibration damper on the kit. Why wouldn't Harley put a damper on the original to keep them from breaking. Oh, I forgot, then they would lose out on repairs. Geez, I'm really getting cynical!
