Here is what I did, I went to radio shack, purchased your basic stereo antenna and a plug for the radio socket. connected the stereo antenna to the plug, plugged into the HK unit and used wire ties to secure it in the fairing, cheap and it works great. The reception is better than the stock antenna

And I'll be the third guy here that has done someting similar. I mounted the factory whip antenna inside of my fairing. Works well for me. Here's a thread describing the process. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-st-glide.html
I figure $20 is worth a shot, but I've thrown more away on less, so I'll try it. If it don't give me reception I'll call them and let them know, if they refuse to refund me, I'll let E-bay know and my purchase done through pay pal is guaranteed or money back.
Have the dakota digital antenna module mounted as high as I could on the upper portion of the fairing. Works great for me. Well.. considering the fact that there are all of 3-4 stations I'll even listen to. If they suck the mp3 player gets turned on.
On that note the tiny new Ipod Shuffle's clipped to a brake line into the aux in work great.

I figure 20 bucks is worth a shot. should be here today I will report back later.
Picked up the one off ebay. Works fine until I turn on the HID headlight. Gonna play around with some copper or aluminum tape to cut down on the interference. Anyone else work through this?
The one from Ebay worked the best for me (out of the fairing mounted antennas). Only one I didnt try was the J&M unit because it was too pricey. I will say that I use thier hidden CB antenna and it worked great with thier cb unit and the Harley cb unit.
For the am/fm/wb I ould use the Ebay unit any day of the week.
I'm already looking at options since I'm in the market for an Ultra. I think I'll give the cheap radio shack antenna a try, maybe I'll stick two in parrallel under there for additional reception, figure more is better.....
I bought the J&M hidden amplified antenna, did not work as advertised. I have added a short stubby on the y connector in the fairing which improved the FM reception, I should have just sent the J&M back.....figured what the hell I peeled the sticky tape and suck their units on now.........
