Cool Biggest bike out there

I have a bit of a problem I stand 6'9" weigh about 310 and have about 37" inseam. Own a 99 Road King Classic. I just started riding last year (age54) and love it but after putting a longer front shifter, air ride police seat and having the front floorboards built out wider for the size 16's I still find the bike a bit too small. Have it so the front footpegs are in a position that I can use them but they are not really all that comfortable. I looked at the 09's and they seem even smaller, so that is out of the question. Also it has a Stage II screaming Eagle kit and V&H pipes, should the mileage be better than 27 mpg? I realize my weight will be a big factor but I had expected better. Any info from larger bikers with modifications to their bikes will be appreciated. TKS

I've seen a number of custom built bikes for football players that are around your size, and they've all stretched the frame and raked the front end for a longer wheel base. You might consider shopping for some of the exotics that are on line from custom builders. There are even a bunch of customs on EBay. If you could find a good used bike that one of those guys are unloading as they are going with a new model, it might fit you much better. I'd seriously contact custom builders personally, and ask if any of their clients might have something for sale that would be a good fit. Good Luck

You always hear the little guys worried whether a bike is going to be too big for them but in reality it's the big guys that can't find a bike to fit them. I saw one show a while back about a bike builder building a bike for Shaq. That thing was huge. I doubt I could have reached the handle bars or foot controls at all. Unformtunately that thing was like $200K. A streach chopper might be your best bet.

I have a bud that is 6'8" and near 400. He has an Ultra that he modified. First he dropped in an S&S 124 to better his HP to Weight ratio. He then had a machine shop fabricate some extended controls. He cannot use his lowers because of his feet. He also had a seat made (corbin I think) that allows him to sit further back.

I don't weigh nearly as much but I have a 36" inseam and arms to match.
I put forward controls, a Mustang solo seat that puts me back a bit more, & 16" apes on my RKC & it fits perfectly now!

1) Apes for handlebars. Sounds like you could easily use a set of 18", and possibly 20"
2) Modify your seat to sit you as far back as you can go. Corbin will sit you back as well, but your stock seat could possibly be modified to go further back. Check with Mean City Cycles on this website.
3) Get rid of the floorboards and get a set of forward controls with an extension

If all that doesn't work, it's gonna get spendy.

Plenty of people out there riding 2-up that exceed your weight. They get better mileage than that I bet. Sounds like your mileage would likely improve with a quality tune.

JayfromPa is probably 6'7'' or so, dunno his inseam though...he put a 3" extension and (i beleive)16" apes on his StreetBob, and seems to fit ok (i look like a midget tryin to ride it, and my FXST looks like a toy with him on it)

I texted him about this thread, maybe he can give you some pointers...I'm a hair over 6', with a 34 inseam, and the 'Glide gets a little cramped on occasion...I extended boards out, next is harleys forward extension for the floorboards.

I think Ken Thompson made a good point...you usually hear of shorter people shaving the seat, etc,,,but tall cats dont have many options (without having to whip out the checkbook).
