Curiuos, where did you get 6497HW from? I don't see it in my parts manual nor online? All I see is the 'retaining ring'?

That is the pn# for the washer that goes on the shifter at the shift shaft seal.

Hmmm.....using the p/n from the manual, when I called HD parts locally they said it was some part for a Buell not an oil seal.

Cometic took the OEM p/n and immediately cross referenced it to their seal.

You need to look at the right diagram to get the part number. Look at Gear Shifter Assembly.

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies/showmodel.asp?Type=13&make=hdmc&a=785&b=15&c=0&d=2 010%20FLHTK%20ELECTRA%20GLIDE%AE%20ULTRA%20LIMITED %20(KE)%20GEAR%20SHIFTER%20ASSEMBLY

Edit - Must have been posting same time as Dawg.

pretty interesting, I was looking at the Primary part of the manual....wonder why it shows it in Dawgs reference but not in the pic I posted? its the exact same region/part & that shows the same seal.

Any harm in reusing the current washer if one needs to? (washer only, not the seal)

Only saw a 10-pack of these online....ugh, don't need 10!
