Sounds like a great way to clear the mind. I bet it was great.
Did you do any special prep work on the bike prior to leaving, install any accessories to help with the long haul (upgraded headlights, etc)?
Love to see some more pics of scenery to
Peace

Needless to say it was awesome. This was the first trip longer than a long weekend that I had in over 4yrs. I used up all my vacation time but it was worth it for sure. I went solo on the trip. It certainly would have been better if some others were along, but there is something to be said for the alone time I had, plus everything was at my pace.
I didn't finish the 72oz steak at The Big Texan....I didnt even try Some guy named Ken I think was trying it while I was there. Not sure if he finished.
Apocolypse....a few things I added were a clearview shield stock with recurve. I rigged a lighter socket in my saddle bag for 12v power and I bought a RAM mount for my Garmin Nuvi 200, it worked great. I was only on the road at night two days(wait that doesn't sound right...night two days..hummm) anyway and I'm happy with my stock lights. I rather not be worrying about critters. The one night coming off the Talimena senic byway within 1hr I had 3 deer, 1 raccoon, 1 big a** black snake, and a black bear cross my path. Kind of proved my point.
Some of you asked so here are a few more pics from the trip.
