Default Tire Question

I had a flat tire yesterday, since I notice it I rode about 1 mile to a gas station and then plug it. My question is: Is it ok to plug on motorcycle tire? is it safe?or I have to replace a new one. thanks in advance...

You wil get answers both ways. I've known them to hold and I've known them to go, no way to tell. For me personally, only plugged twice in all my years, but both times I changed the tire as soon as I could. It's a lot of money but the cost of a tire is worth avoiding even a tiny spot of road rash, that **** hurts!

I would run a plug and tube till your next Tyre change but if you rode the bike for 1 mile on a flat tyre its best to replace with a new tyre as you might have damaged the side walls

+1. I had a roofing nail in my front. I aired it up and rode to the Indy. Had it plugged and tubed and now have over 10k in it. If ran flat, replace. Oh, the tire is a Metz 880

I might consider running a rear tire plug, but might be a little more hesitant on a front. The current miles on the tire would also be a big factor in the decision.

I wouldn't run a plug on the front for long, but I have and will continue to run them on the rear for thousands of miles. Never had a problem, and I have done it quite a few times.

I carry a plug kit in the saddlebag with the little CO2 cartridges in it so I can fix a flat on the side of the road. Works great! And much cheaper than a tow!

I plugged a rear tire once, had a small nail right in the center. Ran it for another 4000 miles until time to change.

A tube is a lot cheaper than a tire.. It also nets you the whole use of the tire ..
