Default To Bore or Not to Bore?

Got a new 2009 Road King Classic coming in next week . . . instead of just adding the SE Heavy Breather and new Rinehart pipes and the SERT (which I am doing), I am also thinking about doing the $900 Stage II kit at the HD dealership before I pull away . . .

Wt do you all think?

Any advice for a noob?

Had an 03 Fatboy with a stage I, but that was all. I want to do this new RK right before I ever pull away from the dealer with it.
Your advice will be helpful! Not sure if there is any advantage for me to do the Stage II on the new Road King or not.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

If the warranty will be good, and you have the money, go for it!

If you wanna do it right ride it out of the showroom stock and straight down to your local indy. This 124ci I have cost a shade more than a 113 screaming eagle and goes sooo much faster, its stronger and will last longer.

Check out HQ, GMR, S&S the list is endless. Find a good mechainic you trust.

S&S make a 106 kit that you dont have to split the cases to fit. You end up with the stock rods, which are quite light on (check the pics in my album) but are fine for the average rider. If I was building a "stage 2" bike I would go S&S 106, S&S heads, S&S gear drive cams and the SE SERT. Pick an air cleaner and set of slip ons and off you shoot with enough grunt to hose down a 103 without even trying.

If you don't care about the majority of your warranty then find the best indy in your area and let them do the work.

If you like your warranty then have the stage II 103 kit installed before you take the bike home...and...make sure you have in writing that the stage II will be covered by your warranty.
