Smile Clearview Review

Finally received my Clearview smoke tint 8"' recurve windshield after waiting 6weeks. Before I took off my 10" shield I went for a ride to see exactly where the wind hit my head in order to compare the two. Clearview says with the recurve you can get the same protection with 2" less.

BEFORE you take the shield out of the protective wrap, Clearview recommends you check it for damage and mount it to make sure it is what you wanted.

So, I mounted the shield (less than 2 minutes) with all the stickers and plastic still on in case it ended up not being what I wanted and went for a ride. Well I have to admit the recurve did exactly what they said it would do, the wind hit me at just over the top of my head at the same point as the 10" shield. After getting back from the ride I removed the plastic and inspected the shield closely for damage or imperfection and found none. The edges are smooth, the tint was just right and the shield fit perfect.

I am 5' 10" and ride with a solo C&C seat. This shield gives me the wind protection I still wanted with the 10", while giving me 2" less height on the shield improving my view of the road. I expect to probably get a few more June bugs hit me because the shorter shield won't stop them in the windstream. Always like getting a product that does what it claims and Clearview gets my thumbs up.

Give John a call, he has some blems that he does not have time to list on his web page. Tell him what ya want and ask if he has a blem. I got one in a few days this way, could not find a thing wrong with it. Blem? Hell if I see any. Great to deal with!

Got any pics of it on the bike yet?

Default Clearview Excellent Customer Service/product

Myself and a friend bought a Clearview in early 2006. Both of our windshields developed a crack within the first 6 months. I called Clearview as did my friend and they shipped replacements that day. We shipped the cracked shields back when we got the replacements. Both of us still have the replacement windshields and have no problems. You really can’t ask for better customer service or a better product.

Yep, 8.5 recurve works great for me. Sundowner, 6'1" when I hold my hand around in the airflow in front of my head I can feel where the bubble of quiet air is. Perfect for me up to highly illegal speeds. I do have a 10" shield that I use for two up riding and it does quiet things down a bit for the radio - but looks a little "too touristy" to leave on all the time.

I have a 9 1/2" recurve and love it. (I'm 6' and can look over a 12" windshield)

No buffering or bugs on my glasses, however sometimes it does seem like it has a little to much wind in my ears though at 70 mph and higher. 65 or slower and it's perfect. I got two more for a couple of buddies.
