Default D&D Fatcats

I put D&D fatcats with the quiet baffle on my bike back about 10,000 miles ago. I have an 06 Ultra with a 95"Kit, andrews 37G cams, little head work and Zippers A/C with the T-Max. The bike has gotten louder and louder from the exhaust to the point now its way to loud I can't hear the stereo at speeds in fact I can't hear much of anything at speed. I really like it on short runs but on trips it gets bad. Anybody else have this problem and is there a way to tone the pipes down a little? Any Ideas would be appreciated

I would say your packing that is wrapped around the quiet baffle has burned off and is gone. I would recommend you take your baffle out, re-wrap it with fresh packing.

Thanks Steve I had no Idea you could do that. Where would I get the packing material?

Either call D&D and see if they can send you some, or go to any Powersports shop in your area and they should have some.

Getting the baffle out will be the hardest part, but here are the instructions -

A thick phone book works just as well as the wood, and don't be skimpy with the WD-40.

as far as the packing material, a dirt bike type shop should have it. but there is a much better way to do it. go to a paint and body supply store. they sell fiberglass on a large roll there, two types. the random matting is not what you want to use. the woven is much better. it looks like , well, woven fabric but white and very smooth to the touch. it'll last a very long time in your muffler body. it's sold by the foot or by the yard, whichever and is much cheaper there than anywhere else you can find it. they use it for fiberglass boat repairs and for repairing corvettes and many custom jobs.

I would call D & D. I would think that they would send you the packing for free.
