Bouncing needle on fuel gauge

First post here. I got on my 02 roadglide today and all of a sudden the fule gauge needle is baouncing up and down with the sloshing gas as I ride. This is the first time this has happened. Anyone have a similar problem? How did you correct it?

first off welcome............second you may want to check the float, sounds like that may be the problem

Could be an extremely expensive fix...fill the tank with fuel. [:@]

Beyond that...this is a worthless post on my part.

The floats and gauges are not very accurate from the factory, and you might have a bad ground wire. I demanded my service manager, under warranty, to remove the float, drain the tank, add 2.5 gallons of fuel, re-insert the float and adjust the thing until the gauge needle read 1/2 full. Now the sumbitch is accurate, and I don't have to guess. Odometer readings are for bikes with no fuel gauge!
