tire problem?
A friend of mine and I got into a discussion yesterday concerning Avon tire pressure. We were checking out my front tire very closely looking for the manufacturer's air pressure stamped on the tire. In doing so I noticed a small air bubble on the sidewall of my front tire. The bubble is exactly like a blister on your skin. The rubber over the bubble is very thin. I would estimate the size at about half the size of a pencil eraser. I completely let all the air out of the tire and push around on the bubble. It did not go away. So, I took a straight pin and just pricked the rubber. The rubber was so thin, that's all it took to get the air out. I didn't have to force the pin into the rubber. The bubble was where the larger lettering of the tire size is located on the tire. If I didn't have the lettering as a reference, I couldn't even find the spot now. Without us down on the ground looking for the air pressure, I may not have ever seen it and couldn't swear it wasn't there from the beginning. The tire has less than 3000 miles. I bought it off ebay new. It still had the sticky label on it with tire size, etc. and it was obviously brand new. What you guys think? Replace it?
I would not risk my life over a couple hundred dollars bubbles most of the time come from impact breaks when the tire gets pinched between the wheel and hard object and cut the internal construction of tire and allows air to seep into sidewall, (hitting curb or pot hole).
