I've recently connected my iPod to the bike with a RAM Mount - See "Mount" pics. Indeed anything connected into the Aux has volume adjustment just as you would with any other audio selection (radio, CD, Weather, etc.). Connecting the iPhone to this adds the excitment of being able to "technically" have a conversation with anyone who calls directly through the speakers (not suggested).

Anyone else have trouble with the AUX input on the HK radio? Mine is crackling and I can make it stop by jiggling the cable. Changed cables and same thing, it appears that the connection itself is bad. Took it in this morning and the service manager agreed and ordered me a remanufactured radio. The catch is that my bike is 3 weeks out of warranty but their covering it anyway!

the mount is a good idea...but since I have the 3 pouch pocket by my windshield I figure I will just put my ipod there.....and of course I hope I remember to shut the "shake to shuffle" feature LOL

It will adjust automatically unless you turn off your AVC. I use the RAM mount as well with the AUX and haven't had any problems. Just make sure that you unplug the piggy tail from the stereo and put the plug in when washing. I forgot that one time and it took about a week to dry out.

The RAM mounts look great, but I'm a cheapskate.

I found a place online at www.handlebarclips.com ,and I bought one of their clips. I had to slightly modify it and the 2gb ipod shuffle to make it work as follows:

I had to cut the clip to make it the right size to fit inside of the nano's belt clip with a hacksaw:

Then I used a Dremmel with a cut off wheel to carefully trim the width of the clip on the shuffle to make it fit inside the handlebarclip. The photo is a little dark, but the ipod clip is normally the same width as the body:

In the end, it sits close enough to the grip on the left side that I can easily press the controls while riding:

When I park, I can unclip it and stick it in the tourpack, or my pocket easily.
