I know this isn't the correct thread but I figured I would get more responses here
Rode the Ultra to work today. When I started it up to go home the check engine light went off when the engine started then came back on for a few seconds. I checked the forum DIY section and my shop manual and code pulling procedures differ greatly.
Codes
TCSTD posted a very detailed procedure on pulling codes but according the my manual that procedure is for carb models. I did the code retreival as per my manual and got code 14 engine temperature sensor? Or "14 Current 33 System relay contacts closed" on our forum procedure. Any ideas before I start tearing into this?
WHAT YEAR IS IT? IF IT IS AN O2 OR LATER YOU WILL NEED THE DEALER TO USE THE SCANALYZER OT DIGITAL TECH TO DECIPHER THE CODE. .IF 99-01 THERE IS A PROCEDURE IN THE WORKSHOP MANUAL TO EXPLAIN HOW YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF. THE FACT THAT IT GOES OUT AND DOES NOT STAY ON INDICATES THAT IT IS NOT SERIOUS.AFTER A START AND STOP OF 50 TIMES IT WILL RESET ITSELF REGARDLESS OF YEAR.
Just started doing this on my 06 king today!I'm about do for my 1k service so i'll let them look at it!God luck with your outcome.By the way ,you guys think the dealer might give me some crap about my exhaust and tuner upgrades?(IE them trying to say thats whats causing the problem)I verified my FUEL PAK CODES are correct too.

2000 Ultra and I used the manual to pull code 14. My biggest concern was the discrepency between the forum procedure and the manual.
