ECM experience?
Does anyone know if a corrupted / failing ECM could be the cause? I have an intermittant issue that doesn't throw codes, but I lose power to the point that hitting 65 two up is a strain. I have narrowed it down to the ignition going to very low advance at cruise rpm on a hot day. It is random and does not show up on any set pattern. I have replaced the battery, plugs, wires, coil, Intake air temperature sensor, MAP sensor, Engine temp sensor and speed sensor. I also did a complete wiring harness wiggle test (I know a very technical shop manual procedure). I have documented the power loss when at FuelMoto on one run it'll hit in the 80's with normal advance, and the next run it's down to the 50's with 15 degrees advance above 3500 rpm. It's acting like it thinks the bike is overheating. We monitered the Engine Temp (and sensor) and there was no change between runs at 190 degree C. Very frustrating. Any thoughts?Thanks -- Tom
