I am having the same problem with my right lid, really starting to pi$$ me off. I looked and seen that the cloth was getting binded up. Straightened it out and it is still doing it. Everything looks ok, nothing bent or broke that i can see. Any other suggestions??

Yep lock tab....insert your key then look at the back side of the latch as you turn the key...the tab has to be lined up to open close easily. Easy fix... DON'T force it or the plate WILL bend. My 08 does it from time to time. Insert key, turn it back and forth and its fixed again.
The latch (cam) on my lock fell off (nut came loose) Bought a new cam and nut. Then the lid started doing the same thing (not closing without fumbling with the key. Took the other side apart to make sure I had assembled it correctly. There is a small spring that goes between the cam and lock assembly. I lost that when it came apart and can't buy one separately. You can't buy just one lock and I am not buying two locks just to get that little spring
I have both problems happen occasionally, The lock tab getting caught.. short term remedy lock and unlock the switch and it will usually work. Long term (still don't know) 2nd issue is the bags latch will not close and it seems as if the bag is bowing. it happens all the time. I hit the latch with my open palm and it goes over center and latches then. No damage on any of the parts. I was contemplating on putting a bit of baby oil on the seal to see if maybe it is just really snug on the lid to bag lip.
