Dude, if I have to strap a friggin ice pack on my chest to ride around in the heat, I'll just stay home and lay out by the pool. Seems kind of ridiculous if you ask me, but to each his own I suppose.

How is dressing for riding in the heat anymore ridiculous than the chaps & leather jacket you're wearing in your photo??? It was 104 here in the Mojave today. I put on a white long sleeve button up shirt, soaked down a cool vest & put in on, covered that up with an orange reflective vest (ended my trip on Edwards AFB), soaked down a doo rag, dawned a helmet & some Nomex gloves (to keep my knuckles from searing)...and rode off into the sun. I do agree with your comment about "whatever floats your boat"....but there isn't at all anything ridiculous for those who truly feel (as I do) that a bad day on a scoot...beats the hell out of an SUV anytime of year!

Around here we ride north in the summer for cooler riding. It gets to the mid 100's from now until August. In the winter we ride south for warmer riding.
Yesterday we rode down to Mesquite, NV. From the top of Utah Hill on the Old 91 road the temperature increased by about 15 degrees the lower we went in elevation. It was 105 when we left, and 95 back in St George.
I wear a HD mesh jacket with a cotton shirt under it. In the heat, as I perspire, I feel fairly cool. Still, shorter legs, and plenty of water is the way to deal with high heat.
So, it's 107 in my town and don't feel like riding. Sweat almost immediately and sitting at a red light on a Harley is just plain torture.
Do you guys ride when it's 100+ degrees out? I have in the past but it's not the most enjoyable thing to do.
Yes I do, because if I didnt I would only be riding about 4 months a year! In my part of the country we average 100+ consecutive 100+ degree days each year.
Yep. In Kansas it hits those temps regularly. I might try to adjust my riding time by starting earlier, but I ride. Especially if I am going to Sturgis.
