I rode down to my local harley dealer and they told as well that something ain't right,so i made an appointment to get it tuned next week. The service guy their said that i should be in the mid 90's range in horsepower along with geting around mid 30's to 40's in gas milaege.so keep your fingers crossed folks that they can fix my problem.
I installed my TMAT last year on my 2007 Ultra with a 103 Big bore kit... Just came back from a 1806 mile trip to the Dragon and blue ridge Parkway,,, I averaged 40.259 miles per gallon, 2 up and packed for the 8 day trip.... I like mine and it did cool the big beast down...

You can set your idle at any rpm and at any temp with the software supplied. read the online software manual from their website. the idle surging can be cured by initiating the module several times. very simple.
the A/F is preset at 13.5 which was getting me around 110 mi. per tank. i reset it to 14.1 at highway speed and 12.8 under heavy load. now i get 160 mi. per tank. all these settings are user adjustable or can be set by your tuner. the more you drive it at different speeds the more stable the TM becomes. i have put around a 1000 mi on my TM and my bike runs perfect. the TM is an excellant unit as you will find out.
+1 on calling Zipper I guess I am lucky in that sense since I live an hour from them. I've had my thunder Max with Auto tune on my 07 RKC for 6k miles. I like how it learns to your setting you set and to your riding habits. since the exhaust system I am running with are custom fabricated including the mufflers I needed something I can direct to learn from.
+1 again by getting the advance users mode on the software and get the latest version of the software, when you do call Zipper ask for Bobby and if he ask tell him Ben sent you. He is their software developer for the system when I worked with him he did something to the map I am running with, something he said I can't see but it's there. Last dyno run was 83 hp and 93TQ that was before Bobby played with the map.

Once bobby played with the map what was the reading then?
Hey everyone,i took some of you guys advice and rode my bike 77 miles starting on a full tank when i went to fill it back up it took 1.87 gallons which averaged 41 MPG.
I think when i complained about my gas milaege blaming this thundermax i did what most suggested which was i needed to ride the bike and also the thundermax had to adjust to my way of riding. So again i want to thank everyone and also fellow forum member shawn for contacting me and helping me out,i really appreciated everyones help.

An '04 Road King would not have had bungs in the exhaust pipes for the oxygen sensors, which I believe would have been needed to optimize the Thundermax in Auto Tune. Someone jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I've always understood from reading their web site.

You are correct. I purchased the 45* bungs, marked and measured a few times and had a exhaust shop weld them in. I had them welded on almost exactly where the 07^ ones are located. Don't forget to keep the shields on while marking locations.
Well, I'm thinkin you may have to change maps. I did a 95 kit with S&S 585 gear drive, ported heads, D&D Fat Cat, 10.25 compression. I get no worse than 42 and as good as 48 miles per gallon. Call Zipper's and discuss it with them.
