I just changed the license plate mount on my bike to a laydown type. Works great. I am thinking about moving it below the rear light.

Moved mine below the tail light. Bought the bracket and lens from J & P. Took about 20 minutes to do it once I had the tour pack off. Don't have pictures of it with the tour pack off, but it does look better and the fender is smooth now...

Sorry don't have the part numbers, but they are easy to find in the catalog (which is at home)...

Yep, search is nice, but not always easy. Sometimes it pays to be friendly and helpful. Plus, I get to seem more knowledgable than I was before....giggity

I initially used the Auto-Gem bracket...

I now have a SoftBrake bracket which looks like frontiercat's...the bracket isn't visible, and doesn't have the chrome tubing and doesn't require bending the plate like the Auto-Gem which allows using a license plate frame.

I just went to Home Depot and bought some sheetmetal and made my own laydown plate holder. Just trace your plate and mark the holes. cut it out and grind smooth, cut 3 sides around the holes and bend them back. I painted mine but you can't even see it

Low cost option. Move your mounting plate from the grab bar to the fender and get some lights to light up the plate and act as a marker light. (J&P) $28.00 Got the HD Chrome tail light cover for FLHX from HD for $29.00 Use the fender tip light wires to power the Lisence plate lights. I also got some Pike Nuts from Ebay $20.00 to put in the holes that were left from cutting off the grab bar. (not Pictured)
