Default 08 ultra Tour Pac Question

Hey guys I was at 2 local dealers today and was told that the quick detatch tourpac kit part#53303-07 would not work. I was told that the wires would need to be cut and re done. I was also told that if I disconnected the speakers that the stock radio and amp would need to be reset. Is there any truth to this ? Have any of you 08 Ultra owners had any problem with your tour packs removed ?.........Thanks

Well the wires prolly need to have some connectors on them to make them easily removable. If you set your fader to all front after you remove the pak id bet you wouldnt have a problem The other trick would be a couple 2 ohm resistors between the 2 speaker wires on both sides ... this can and has been done by ultra owners so there is a way.. Come to think of it and i havent done it yet but im gonna hook up my rear speakers to the 35 pin connector that the ultra uses. Im told that the speakers will work but if I want the fader to work i need to have the radio reprogrammed so if thats the case there are no rear speakers now and it shouldnt hurt the radio then ?.. Remember some people at the dealers want to be more than salesman or parts guys ... they wanna just be stuff knowers..

I was told the samething which made me go with the EG Classic. It's not that it can't be done, anything can be done. It's just how far do you want to dive into it. I'm happy with the Classic and the quick options I can add or remove.

Ok Thanks guys. Today I went back to the dealer and bought the quick disconnect kit even though they told me it would not work. I spent all day working on it all bye myself . I had no problems at all. It was easy. It's now finished and I love it. I now have 2 different style bikes. Someday I will stop listening to those parts guys at the dealers.
