Fastaire
Ordered the 6"shield for my Ultra and had it in record time. Very nice company to deal with. After a day or two with the 6" I've decided to bump it up to the 9". I was getting just a little more air than I wanted with the 6" even tho it looks awesome! For the price you can have a closet full of these things for the price of one made by HD.
Can't go wrong with Fastaire, top notch.

I met this guy a few days ago. He sure was a real good guy to talk to- very personable. He has tons of bike knowledge and makes a qualty product. If your ever in Reno I would say to stop and chat with him.

I've got four of them. They get to you real quick and are very affordable. I wish i had gotten the 9" one in the sunglass grey vs light grey though. They fit well but I have noticed they are VERY easy to scratch.
I notice that you have a Cee Bailey's SSC windsheild. I have the 12" model which is equal to a stock 9" WS. Do you swap between different manufacturers of WS? I feel my money was well spent on the SSC WS. No need to look for any other. They look great and perform even better.
I have the 9" dark smoke Fastaire windshield and it's perfect. $35 is unbeatable, and if it scratches or anything I'll just order another one. Super fast shipping and service, 2-3 days and it's here and installed.

I have 2 on the way, an 8 inch dark, and 9 inch light. What do those of you with them recommend cleaning them with to avoid scratches? Thanks

Soos, I use the Cee Baileys because nothing else re-directs the air like they do. I met the owner of Fast Air and he is a nice guy and makes a good product. I however, prefer what I have for over all effectiveness. Some guys like choppers some like baggers. I don't think one is better that the other, it's just personal preference. You should give both a try and see what you think.

Thanks to all for the kind words about Fast Aire.. it makes me think Im doing it right.
- There are many choices out there for our bikes. In fact sometimes, maybe too many choices. But net forums like this one is a very good tool for people to compare different products. I read far more than I post and Ive found that forum opinons/comments are usually very honest & straightforward. It always helps to read a differing opinion. My recommendations has always been that " Its your money, buy what makes you happy".
- "Fast Aire windshields scatch very easily": I do hear from time to time and in comparison to HD OEM and some higher priced windshields, thats a true statement. I could provide a very lengthly explaination as to why but I will keep it to a short comparison... short for me anyway.
> HD's OEM Clear Windshields are: GE Lexan AR, DOT-4 certified and heat/vacuum molded. This is a DOT requirement for OEM motorcycles.
> Lexan AR is polycarbonate plastic with a abrasion resistant coating ( AR ). If youve ever seen an old windshield that looks spotty or has something flaking off it, thats the AR coating. Its a several micron thick hardened plastic coating thats specifically designed to reduce surface scratching.
> Lexan or any polycarbonate without the AR coating is durable & impact resistant but rather soft and scratches easily.
> The AR coating would increase the windshields production costs by50% and the end sales price would no longer be a good value.
> Lexan or polycarbonate is used in everything from sunglasses, pill bottles, beer bottles, cosmetic display cases, windshields, etc...
> I have recently upgraded all of my material to a newer & stronger material that does offer increased scratch protection. Most of my current inventory is now from the newer material.
As a general statement, some seem to think a $30.00 windshield should be bullet proof and the few Ive received back looked like they were cleaned with sandpaper. So honestly, its not always the material
One of the better ways to remove scratches & polish the Fast Aire windshield is to use a high quality Car Wax like Mothers or Meguires. Just apply & polish like you would your paint. No tricks or special compounds.. use elbo grease. Be careful when doing an AR coated windshield, it can remove the mico-coating.
If you purchased a Fast Aire windshield and think that it is not worth the money spent...please contact me at & I'll take care of you.

In the future, hopefully early 2007...I will have a pre-formed GE Lexan AR windshield available and I estimate the price to be around $50.00 for a 8 inch Smoke.
Thanks for letting me explain my side of things...

Steve,
How tall are you and does the 9" windshield block most of the wind from the front?
The previous owner of my '03 mounted a 4-1/2" windshield and that's not going to be ok for me.
