Power Commander V Question
Almost ready to pull the plug on Fuel Moto's Power Package. My local stealer says that they will not work on the bike unless it either has a) the stock Harley set up or b) HD Race Tuner. Sounds like a bunch of crap to me.
Has anyone had problems with getting warranty work or service done by stealers when they have converted over to the Fuel Moto packages?

i have this issue - i remove the PCV i got from FM and then ride about 50 miles before i bring it to the dealer for any warranty service. So far so good... they have a hunch since i cut out the battery cover to fit the PCV connector but if they dont see it.. cant prove it....
I specifically used a power commander on mine under warranty because i could remove it, re-install the stock air cleaner and mufflers, and carry it back for warranty work if something ever happened(it never did).
Most stealers will not provide warranty service for any bike that has after marker parts that can effect function - brakes, cams, EFI, etc. Pipes are the #1 culprit, gives the stealer an excuse to not honor engine issues.
It's just good business. Who knows what bob's great brake calipers you have.
Then again, if the stealer installs the aftermarket part - they 'should' warrant it. Most do, but...
And many many many after market manufactures will have gone through the drill to validate that 'thier' product does not void the warranty. But you get what you pay for.
your mileage may vary - but ask - and be informed.
