I did and am real happy with the results. I switched to progressive suspension 412 series heavy duty shocks. I called progressive and spoke with a sales/tech person. He asked me a bunch of questions like how much I weigh, how much my wife weighs do we ride 2 up often do we tour together with the bike loaded down etc. After that he suggested these shocks and they were not the most expensive ones.

I switched, got mine from J & p, sorry don't remember which model number, but I love them, just never did like the ride I got with the air rides, and they would bleed down, I checked for leaks but in time they went down, also a friend of mines does the same thing.
Anyway like I said I love them.

Never any trouble with my air shocks.
Wife loves 'em when I pump 'em up for trips.
Why would you want too?

Because they are poor shocks compared to most aftermarket choices. I guess if you haven't switched you would not know the difference.
