Well, after putting 14,000 miles on my Deluxe in 11 months, I have been wanting a touring bike.
I went into my dealer this morning just to see what they had and they are making deals right now to get rid of the remaining '09 bikes.
I'm picking up a Red Hot Sunglo Street Glide on Friday morning. I fell in love with it as soon as I rode it. Very nice bike, and rides so much different then the Deluxe. I was also interested in a Road Glide and took one for a ride, but I liked the SG a little bit more.
After all was said and done, I ended up getting about $2100 below MSRP. It has Cruise and ABS. Pretty amazing deal I thought. Wasn't expecting to buy a bike this year, but couldn't resist.
I got the bike at Central Harley Davidson South in Olathe, KS if anyone is thinking about buying. I do think I got a little better deal because this is the third bike I've bought from them.
I've got my extras from the Deluxe on sale in the for sale section, time to start searching for pipes and other goodies!
I know the feeling. I have my EGC and a Deluxe as well. They both have their own qualities but I was like you and I put 50K mile on my Deluxe in 4 years. It was time to get a touring bike to do what I was already doing.
