OK, what is the big deal about a few MPG when you just paid this kind of money for a bike and we complain about power and bitch about a MPG or 3...That is what i asked myself when i started to tinker with performance??? So i finally said the hell with it ....just ride the SUMB!TCH like i stole it...MAn ifeels good....don't it. When the gas gets low i just put som more in it and ride som more...When i get to a point where i can't afford a bit o gas i will trade for a Buell Ulysses that gets 60 MPG. or a Liquor cycle. LOL ah ahaha aha....

That way you can grow if you decide to and won't waste the $150 or so on the HD download, which beyond the Stage 1 setup is a dead-end.

Call Fuel Moto and tell them you have the V&H mufflers and want the AC and PCV with a map to match the combo. Ask for their "mileage map," which isn't as far as you can go toward optimal mileage but is a start. There has been much discussion on this topic here.

As for mileage, you should not pass judgment on the bike until you've compiled some mileage and have it broken-in. OTOH, a stock configuration is about the best mileage you'll get out of an engine, as they already are tuned about as lean as can be programmed and still run.
The new H/D A/C are cleanable. You wash and reuse

stg1 with stock air intake may get it a bit ritcher in the open loop mode but in closed loop no luck. ieds with this combination will cool things down even more but still nothing like a good tune.when i say good tune it doesnt matter what u use pc or sest (sest just cost a bunch more money snd regures dyno time)its all about the map harley dealers have the best techs in the world that know everthing harley they would never charge ya for dyno time and dump in a canned map and since they know all they ussually wont even ask if u want power or mpg they just give you what they think is best. there are some good tuners out ther but finding them is dificult.if they tell ya 2 hours on the dyno your getting a bad tune.

I'm off base here maybe but I have a Dyna with stage 1 with the stock A/C and Rush 2.0 mufflers.Runs great,it's still lean in closed loop. The plugs are still white.Maybe I need to run the crap out of it more!It works out for me though.
