Thank you, but does the entire tank console with fuel cap, etc have to be removed or can just this center insert be taken out and replaced with the chrome one?

I have a 2015 FLHTK and was looking at doing this install. Did you order the brackets or use double sided tape. And did removing the old console require anything other than elbow grease to pry and remove, how did you deal with the leftover tape residue. Sorry I am late to this party, but thought I would ask. Thanks much!!!

I ordered the brackets and screws that were listed in an earlier post. Made it very easy. The whole console must be removed which required pulling the seat. If I remember correctly there was a screw in the back of the console under the seat and 2 by the fuel cap. Once you get it removed the old insert should push right out.

Thanks again, just got it all installed and it's a night and day difference on the look and quality. Appreciate your help again, Thanks!!!
