Unhappy I hate electrical problems

I thought I figured it out. I checked the stator and it seemed fine, so looks like a new Voltage regulator. I am still in shock as to how expensive it is for an 03 as opposed to an 04 or newer. What gives? But I digress.
I had to unplug the regulator to check the stator. When I plugged the regulator back in, it seemed to run at the right voltage. I thought I lucked out. I decided to take it for a ride to see if my luck would hold. For a while it did, then I hit it coming off a 4 way stop and the volts jetted up to 16. They came back down fine but the longer I rode, the more they wanted to stay high. I brought the bike home (this time no whacky speedo or red engine light) and parked it. Unless someone has some other good info, it looks like a new $214.00 voltage regulator is on the schedule for next Saturday.

PS. Does anyone know the HD part number, so I can search for a better deal on this regulator? I cannot find it and it is not listed on the HD sight at all.

I grabbed the part number and checked out Chicago HD. $158.40. The guy at High Dessert HD in Meridian, ID (where I am all week) quoted me the $214.00. Amazing.
Thanks for your help.
