4 th Gear Whine-Is it normal?

I have a little whine in 5th on my 6 speed but none on my 5 speed

Yep, I also have a whine in my 09 RG 4th gear as well as my buddies 09 Roadking. I guess it must be inherent on the 6 speed trannies. We both are running synth.

This is the explanation. My 05' has had the whine since day one. I have noticed that heavier synthetic gear oil reduces the whine, but does not eliminate it. A straight cut gear will never sound the same helical gears.

Just consider it an audible 4th gear (or 5th in a 6 speed) indicator.
