Default 5th gear
Hey guys, I am new to my bike, only 2300 miles on it, and I was wondering if anyone else has had kind of a whine coming from 5th gear? I have a 08 road king classic and wanted to know if this was normal. I am taking the bike in for her 2500 mile check up but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen?

Yes, pretty common/normal. The reason is the difference between the helical cut and straight cut gears and that is why 5th seems like it whines.

Turn up the HK or put on loud pipes and ride.... nothing to worry about!
