Last I looked the recession has started way before this current admin was in office. Take your blinders off. No matter who is in office they have a tough job to get this ship righted. Maybe if the old admin would of seen the recession when it started and didn't deny we were in a slow down and would of done something right away. We would of been alright. Let this admin run it's course. If you don't like it at the end of the term vote them out My guess you were one who thought GWB did a great job for 8 years.

Most motorcycle dealers have done what the auto dealers have done, with slow new sales they have concentrated on used sales, all the Harley and even rice dealers around me in Arkansas advertise daily wanting to buy used bikes outright of any make. The Harley dealers will take any make on a trade in also.

Harley has probably made some bad loans but they are seeing people default now because of job losses and pay cuts, thus you unload or can't pay for motorcycles, boats and RV's.

I have worked for Whirlpool Corp for 32 years in Ft. Smith we have gone from 5000 hourly people to 900 in a year and half and from producing 1.9 million units to 300,000, the economy has hurt us but Mexico and NAFTA has and will kill us but nobody wants to talk about that, Next year will probably be our last. Soon and very soon when 90% of our good paying middle class manufacturing jobs are gone forever and with our middle class we will truly be global a 3 world country just like the rest. So rock on Obama lead us to the light.

WTF Dude where did I blame Obama "So rock on Obama lead us to the light" ?? but it was a democrat Clinton who signed NAFTA with party backing and contrarily to what Obama said in running that NAFTA needs to be looked he has backtracked, so MORON read more post less.
BTW I did vote for Obama.

Dave...I agree 100%...the people in Control are taking care of themselves only...at our expense! I am now down to a 4-day, 32-hour work week...hopefully its just temporary, like the workforce in this country!

Once they lay off all the workers, whose left??? Brad

I didn't intend on this being a political bitching thread but I don't care. The direction of our country is very important to all of us and will no doubt have some reflection of our ability to partake in our love of riding motorcycles. I didn't vote for Obama and I think his agenda is down right scary. However I don't think he is the cause of our current problems or will he be able to fix them. The most dangerous thing right now is the apparent attitude that the ship is sinking and most of the politicians are covering their asses at our expense. The changes in our country that got us here are long in coming and can't be reversed quickly or easily. Hang on folks, it will be a long ride down a bumpy road with a shitty seat. T.
