So, when has HD ever done deep discounting? always list price or higher. May get a dealer to discount, but not the mother ship. What the article seems to miss is that retail pricing is overinflated so that discounting brings them to a profit level retailers can live with. They made up the difference on the folks that had to have an item and paid full price. I think the author is over optimistic about the health of the economy.
