I always use the kill switch - probably because it allows me to retain control (brakes, handlebars) - it's convenient especially when parking on uneven terrain.
If yer using the KS - a person on occasion could forget to switch the ignition.
just reach down and pull the plug wires.......that way you won't have to worry about either...lol
On bikes prior to EFI you just turned off the fuel petcock and walked in the bar. It eventually just shut itself off. No need to use cumbersome switches! For EFI bikes, please follow the simple steps in the checklist procedures attached in the photo:
Whatever you do - do NOT ArmorAll your tires. No matter who in here tells you to.
This is the most idiotic thing I've come across in multiple motorcycle forums! I've been using armorall for YEARS! And yes..even on my bikes! any over spray is quickly worn off when you leave your driveway! It's not as bad as stopping at a stop light and failing to realize the person that stopped there last had an oil leak! OR gravel in an intersection..dirt where you need to STOP fast so as not to enter the intersection. I since stopped using armorall because I found other products that have multiple uses saving me from single-purpose products..but I still use a tire shine product which works very much like armorall! I'm still here...I'll keep using it and I'll tell anyone that your warning is from SHEER PARANOIA and not common sense.
My 04 Sportster had a problem with the speedo going dead while riding and I think some of the Dynas used to do this as well. It was explained to me by the dealer back then that by always shuting it down with the kill switch followed by the ign and restarting by turning on the ign followed by the kill switch it would help avoid this by properly powering up the ECM,like booting a computer. I dont know if it was true but when I started doing it I never had the speedo go dead again. So I have followed that sequence ever since with my RK and now my Fatty

Well, Mr Armorall. Before all these newfangled shiney store bought products. Ol timey detail freaks used sugar water to make their sidewalls shiney. Also made your tires SWEET.
