Oh man, what a visual! I'm laughing my a$$ off. You could write a newspaper column with the way you described that one.
Geez, I went to a turkey calling class once (stop laughing at me) - anyway you'd think these turkeys were ninjas and impossible to sneak up on, and here one comes out to the intersection to take you on. What a great story!
Well, today took the cake so to speak. I am about 10 miles into my 15 mile commute. I was stopped at a light listening to the radio. Out of the corner of my eye I see a large female turkey, in the intersection making a bee line run to the front of my bike. She stops right in front of the tire and starts pecking at it. I stands up on my toes and look over the bat wing and she looks up at me. Then she comes around to my left side and starts trying to peck at my knee. All the traffic just stops to look at this old guy and turkey having a sparing match. Boot to beak.( read as alot of pecking and kicken here).... Her head is at the same height as my air horn so I give her a blast, nothing. She keeps attacking. I rev the motor, stock pipes, nothing. When the people behiend me get the coffee out of there nose and start beeping their horn, nothing so I just blew through the red light and off to work. Watch it guys EVERYTHING is out to get us. Bet I could have taken her in round #2.........
Guess it's true then, Loud Pipes Save Lives!!! (and help avoid attacks by angry turkeys!)
That is a pretty funny image to think about. This must be a Mass. thing, I was in Northern Boston last year at a courtyard hotel, walked out of the lobby into the parking lot (right under the entry way) and got attacked by 6 turkeys. They kept trying to peck at my leg, manager had to come out and run them off.

Good thing you didn't start anything stupid, that was probably one of those 1%er turkeys!
Round 2 you say ??
Roight, I'll put my money on the bird .
Now if that where only to end up on You Tube that really would be something.
Glad to hear both of you made it out in one piece,
Rob
