I would bet most bikes switch to Synthetic, so it's not surprising most of the bikes with problems are running Synthetic. Your South Dakota service manager is confusing association with causation. When you hear the rooster crow, the sun comes up. That's association. If you believe the rooster causes the sun to come up, you are a primitive being and probably work in a South Dakota Harley Davidson shop. I'm just sayin'...

Riggghhhhtttt! Then why does the MoCo run Synth3 in all their CVO models as standard equipment??

It quieted the old ladys new TriGlide down. Put Mobil 1 15w50 at a 1,000 miles and its alot quieter then the stock whatever it was was in it.

Didn't the CVOs have problems with gasket leakage or something.

Just sayin'

They used to put ground up corncobs in automobile differentials, to quit them down, maybe we're on to something.
