Cool RoadGlide vs Bat Wing

I need to find a Roadglide to ride so I can compare the difference between my SG and a RG.

Meanwhile, I want to hear from people that have experience and can share their comparision. Keep in mind. BIAS's are ok aslo

Is the RoadGlide really that much better of a handling bike than the BatWing?

I have an 07 SG and just wondering if

1) The Roadglides handle better, much better or way better with no comparison.

2) If I get a frame stabalizer will my bike bascially handle as well as the 09 SG of course with the the ABS

3) Do the 09 SG handle as good as the 09 Roadglides (ie, did the 09 roadglides get improvements that bascially make the Roadglides superior no matter what year?)

Thanks

My 0.02,, go ride one and decide for yourself! I Think the owners of these 2 different bikes are biased. I have a RG and of course im inclined to say hell yes its a better handling bike!

You will get many differing opinions on this.

My advice would be to rent one or see if a buddy has one you could take for a spin.

I for one don't feel the RoadGlide handles any better than the wing. I have an Ultra and last year when it was in the shop I had a Road Glide for a week that I put about 1200 miles on. I couldn't wait to get my Ultra back. The buffeting on the RG was horrible. I was caught in rain a few times and got soaked on the RG as the fairing being out further and no lowers let the rain land on me.

I think you get used to any bike's handling.....between the two it probably comes down to two things....1. looks and 2. whether you like the fairing to move with the front end or not.

I really think the road glide is best for me. Some guys hate the look and distance of gauges. Some guys hate the way it feels turning with the fixed fairing. I recommend riding both and you decide. I liked the road glide and the bat wing. I liked the road glide best.

I've ridden the Road Glide quite a bit. My brother owned one along with his Road King. Whenever I went to visit him for a week or so, I'd ride the Glide, and he'd ride the King. It's a personal thing, but I really didn't like how far everything is away from you. Also, I didn't notice any appreciable difference in quality or handling. Long story short, he sold the Road Glide and kept the King. Same thing I would have done. If you're 6'1"+ it might fit you better. Many folks just don't like the look of the sharknose, hence the name "fugly". You need to make your own call on this one. Everyone is packing their own biases. Like Leo said, whichever one you own is best.... As that's the one you determined fit your needs the best!

I had a 2000 Ultra and know have a 2007 Road Glide. Side by Side the Road Glide handles better. The fram mounted fairing not only takes weight off of the front forks but it "cuts" through the air. This is super nice in really bad wind. 2006 headed from Mitchell to Rapid City we hit the nasty cross wind that is common in that part of the the state. My dad on his SE Road Glide just walked right thru the wind. On my Ultra I was hanging on for dear life. The cross wind was catching the fairing which will make the front end turn which makes it worse.

Now for looks... I personally love the Road Glide look both from the cockpit and from the front and side views. That is a love em or hate in my opinion.

I agree, rent one and go put 500 miles on it and see what you think.

...Plus then you will can join the rest of the black sheep instead of the heard of batwingers....
