have not had my seat off for sometime..(2000 miles). was doing a detail cleaning and take measurements for a solo seat... the rear metal bracket had loosened from the seat. the 2 10mm head bolts gouged (spelling) into my rear fender. it is not a simple "it will buff out" problem,
temporary fix... ground the heads down just enough to get the wrench on it and apply loktite. and no my wike ain't that heavy...oopps her she come

Ok...I have just one question.......what is a wike?

Too late. Found it out last week. I ordered a fender bib to cover it up.
Found the same issue when I first got the bike last year. Posted the problem on another forum and did the same thing, ground the heads down smooth. I also went to the local Menards and bought kitchen cabinet liner in solid black for $5. I traced the outline of the back part of the seat and made my own fender bib. I used the two bolts that stick up on the fender as a guide to hold the liner in place. I punched two holes in the material so it doesn't shift around.
So whenever I clean the bike up, I remove the seat and clean and polish under the liner to keep things from scratching. It's worked for 5K miles now. And I have plenty of cabinet liner leftover if I ever need to replace the liner.
Well...I picked mine up today and just installed it. I loosened those two bolts your talking about and used blue locktite (stick type) on them and put it back on. I hope this holds it. It says right next to those bolts not to loosen them. It says something to the effect that these bolts are factory tighten do not loosen. The material that they screw into seems like plastic. Will the locktite work on plastic?
