Will the locktite work on plastic?
My issue was not because the bolts backed out, it was because my wife sitting on it pushed the seat down enough to make contact. I had to grind the raised edges on the hex screw down smooth. I left about 1/16" of screw head which was enough to screw them back in.

And my wife is about 145 lbs, so not just from her weight. Probably from hitting bumps and her bouncing up and down putting more pressure on the back of the seat.

Here's is what seems to be good prevention BEFORE it happens.

Too late for the OP and myself though.

Default my fix

I noticed the same problem a few months back on my RG with a Sundowner. I used the Lanka (sp) paint repair for the paint scratches. After that, I got a felt furniture tab (multi pack) and put one on the offending bolt head. It was slightly larger than the bolt head and it had a 'sticky' adhesive that attached it to the bolt head. No more paint marring.

I put a 08 SE Road King seat on my Glide and noticed the same thing. I replaced the bolts with pop rivets, and put 3M clear film on the fender.
