one thing i have noticed about this forum is that if you don't have a 08 or newer bike your not given the same respect as those who can drop the moolah on a new bike every year. so look out you 08 owners! the 10s are here!! ha ha
As long as mine keeps running without any problems, I'm just fine with that. If someone doesn't 'respect' me because I don't 'upgrade' the ride year after year, then I guess their 'respect' is worth about what I paid for it.
I tried the HD shields and they seemed to trap the heat when sitting still. It was the about same with the stock exhaust and Rinehart TDs.
I installed a 2-1 exhaust system which eliminated the heat directly under the seat (see pic). I also added an HD oil cooler. With South TX temps being in the 100's for the past month the bike and I can take it.
My SG runs at 240 most of the time. I do have RJ's but a friend has HD, they look ok and he claims they work great. Much cheaper than all the others available.
Bought the HD Deflectors and have installed the left side no problem. I've got an 07' Street Glide that has Bassani True Duals and a Power Curve. Anyone have tips on getting the right side deflector on. The top screw is blocked by the rocker top and the bottom is blocked by the power curve. Do I need to remove the exhaust?
something else going on here if you didn't have a heat problem and all you did was change mufflers and now you have a heat problem........where are the top wrenches out there???
May need some tuning to compensate for the new mufflers, not sure on the newer bikes if the power commander or whaat ever does it auto. My carb needs adjusting with exhaust changes.
